Newlyweds' First Christmas!

As Christmas is very quickly approaching, we're starting to think of some ways that we can make our first married Christmas special, while also beginning to think of traditions we'd like to keep for the years to come.

For now, we've been doing a little bit of shopping for a few Christmas decorations. Both of us love the idea of decorating our house for the season, and I think this will be a fun tradition for us for years to come. I can't wait to put up a few pictures of our results!

Also, come back within the next week to find a super cute, cheap, and easy ornament idea!! We're getting the supplies to make these & I'll show you how neat they are soon. :)

For now, what is one special memory you have of your first Christmas as a newlywed? Please share... I'd love to hear ways you make your holidays special! And if you haven't had that first married Christmas yet, what is something you're looking forward to?

Last year was our first Christmas together. We had just moved 800 miles from our families, and we couldn't make the trip back home because we had to work.

We exchanged a few meaningful gifts on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day we went to the movies and ate Chinese food for dinner. It was unconventional, but probably the best Christmas I've ever had!

Love the topic that you asked for input on today. Such fun! Although my husband and I are definitely no longer newlyweds, it is such a treat to think back to that time in our the period before we had kids and it was just the two of us.

For us, holidays are always filled with many family and friends. However, I remember days around the end of the year that were filled with intimate dinners by candlelight, listening to holiday music, and just hanging out. Ahhh, it was a blissful time!

Enjoy your holiday with your husband this year. It is a very special time in your lives. And if you are planning on having kids someday in the future, it will undoubtedly be one of your quietest celebrations! :)

My favorite is the Christmas right before we were married. We had just gotten engaged and it was great to be together and share each other's traditions. My mom always had a special bag called a "Santa Sack" for my sisters and I and I cried when she made one for my husband-to-be!! :o) It was really special to me!
